Christmas Blessings by Geoff Allan — Lyrics
May the blessing of joy abide within you;
May the blessing of peace rest upon you;
May the blessing of love flow out through you;
May all the blessings of the Lord be yours at Christmas
and in the New Year,

About Christmas Blessings
This SATB setting of Christmas Blessings, a prayer attributed to Anon, captures the spirit of the season. The text expresses profound wishes for joy, peace, and love, asking that these blessings flow from the singer to the world. It also invokes the Nativity, recalling the angels, shepherds, and wise men, and praying for kindness, good desires, and freedom from evil. The composer Geoff Allan frames these heartfelt sentiments within a sacred Christmas context, encouraging singers to share in the gladness of Christ's birth and to approach the holiday with clear hearts, celebrating the divine gift of being God's children.
