Christ unser Herr zum Jordan kam

Jacob Meiland’s Christ unser Herr zum Jordan kam is a Sacred Motet for SATTB voices. The music opens with a close, imitative texture, the voices weaving around each other in careful counterpoint. The German text, drawn from a hymn about Christ's baptism, speaks of God's will and the sacrament of baptism as a cleansing from sin, overcoming death through Christ's sacrifice and opening the way to new life.
