About Christ der ist erstanden
Stephan Mahu’s setting of Christ der ist erstanden opens with a bold statement of the Easter sequence, drawing on the familiar plainchant melody. The SATT voices move with homophonic clarity in the first verse, presenting the text’s message of Christ’s resurrection and our joy in his victory. The second verse explores the theological significance of the resurrection, with the voices weaving more imitatively, building towards a triumphant Alleluia.
