ONYE BU EZE EBUBE ? by Chris N. Ogu — Lyrics
About ONYE BU EZE EBUBE ?
"Onye Bu Eze Ebube?" draws its text directly from the triumphant verses of Psalm 24. Chris N. Ogu sets this majestic scriptural passage to a vibrant choral arrangement, capturing the anticipation and awe of welcoming the Lord of Hosts.
In the choir loft, this piece is a powerful choice for Entrance processions, Palm Sunday, or any feast celebrating the sovereignty of Christ. The music builds a sense of grand arrival, with the voices calling out to "lift up the ancient gates" (Ọnụzọ ọkpụ litenu elu) so that the King of Glory may enter.
The arrangement uses dynamic vocal entries to emphasize the dialogue of the psalm. As the choir asks "Onye bu eze ebube a?" (Who is this King of glory?), the resounding answer comes back declaring Him as the mighty warrior and Lord of heaven's armies (Dinwenu nk'igwe ndị agha). It is a stirring song of praise that naturally lifts the hearts of the congregation as Mass begins.
