This anonymous French chansona is set for SAB voices. The text expresses longing for a loved one, with the first section describing a message sent to a nightingale and the second painting a picture of indoor comfort and feasting during winter. A single Latin word, Veritatem, is sung simultaneously by the third voice, adding a contemplative layer to the otherwise secular sentiments of love and seasonal pleasure.
