About Canti di Santa Ildegarda
Carlotta Ferrari’s Canti di Santa Ildegarda draws inspiration from the medieval mystic and composer Hildegard of Bingen. This setting for two-part choir (SA) is in Latin and belongs to the sacred choral tradition. The text, deeply spiritual, speaks of our presence in the world while holding God in our minds and hearts, embracing Him as if He were physically present. The second section of the text, which translates to 'Son of God, through His secrets, He came forth like the dawn,' evokes the mystery of divine manifestation and the hope of new beginnings. Ferrari’s composition offers a reflective and devotional experience, connecting contemporary singers to a rich spiritual and musical heritage.
