About Cantemus Domino
Mariano Garau's Cantemus Domino is a powerful setting of a Latin text drawn from the scriptures. The piece is written for SATB choir, offering rich harmonic possibilities. The text, beginning with 'Cantemus Domino' ('Let us sing to the Lord'), expresses profound gratitude and praise, highlighting God's strength and redemptive power. The triumphant 'Alleluia' at the end provides a jubilant conclusion, suitable for services or concerts seeking a spirit of exultation. Garau's composition aims to convey the grandeur and deep spiritual significance of the sacred words through expressive choral writing.
