About Cantate Domino
Sulpitia Cesis crafts a jubilant setting of the well-known Psalm 95 text, Cantate Domino. This motet for double choir (SATB.SATB) unfolds with a grand and celebratory character. The interplay between the eight voices creates a rich and dynamic texture, evoking the exultant message of the text. The music directly mirrors the exhortations to sing, praise, and make joyful noise, particularly the repeated emphasis on God's wondrous deeds. Cesis's masterful writing for the combined choirs results in a powerful and resplendent sacred work, ideal for drawing attention to the text's message of praise and thanksgiving.
