Cantate Domino by Jens Klimek — Lyrics
Alleluja. Cantate Domino canticum novum;
laus ejus in ecclesia sanctorum.
Laetetur Israël in eo qui fecit eum,
et filii Sion exsultent in rege suo.
Laudent nomen ejus in choro;
in tympano et psalterio psallant ei.
Quia beneplacitum est Domino in populo suo,
et exaltabit mansuetos in salutem.
Exsultabunt sancti in gloria;

About Cantate Domino
Jens Klimek's Cantate Domino is a sacred motet for SSAA voices, setting a jubilant Latin text from the Psalms. The music opens with a mighty Alleluja, proclaiming that God's praise should be sung in the assembly of the saints. The text rejoices in the Lord's creation of his people and calls for them to exult in their King, praising His name with music, dance, and song. Klimek's setting captures the festive spirit of the text, calling for joyful praise and the exultation of the righteous in God's glory. The piece moves from confident declaration to a profound sense of God's triumph and the vindication of the faithful.
