Candido lume

Imagine a sun-drenched Italian landscape, perhaps a country villa or a sunlit courtyard, where a single voice might have sung this aria. Bellanda sets a poetic text that compares the beloved to a pure, bright light, like snow, ignited by love. The words speak of an inner fire, of Aurora as a mother, and of love's arrows, shot with sweetness rather than overt force. This solo aria, sung in Italian, offers a chance for a singer to explore tender and elegant expression, a miniature portrait of Renaissance sensibility.
