Campana sobre campana

This traditional Spanish carol, Campana sobre campana, comes to us as an SATB arrangement. The lyrics, which translate to 'Bell upon bell', depict the ringing of bells and the Nativity scene. The text paints a vivid picture of shepherds bringing gifts and the profound moment of Christ's birth, all observed through the simple act of looking out of a window. The carol then takes a turn, hinting at the future suffering of the Christ Child, adding a layer of pathos to the festive celebration. This arrangement allows the choir to explore the rich imagery and emotional journey of this well-loved Christmas song.
