Burlington by Walter Janes — Lyrics

Psalmus, in Salomonem.

About Burlington

Walter Janes sets a sacred text in Latin and English for SATB choir. The composer's approach can be explored through this work, which draws from a rich tradition of sacred music. The text itself, drawn from Psalm 72, speaks of righteous judgment and lasting peace, with verses that promise a reign of justice and universal dominion. The setting allows the choir to engage with these profound themes, moving between the original Latin and an English translation. This piece offers a substantial musical and textual experience for a choir seeking to explore devotional repertoire.
