Bright And Deep

Bright And Deep opens with a gentle interplay between the SATB voices, creating a sense of awe and wonder. The music evokes the imagery of water falling, a cascade from tall rocks, and a hidden, secret place. The composer builds this atmosphere through careful attention to vocal texture and harmonic color. The English text speaks of dreaming of God, finding refuge in divine light and salvation, and overcoming fear. The music seeks to embody this spiritual assurance and profound inner peace, offering a contemplative experience for both singers and listeners.
