About Blow Thou Cleansing Wind
Thomas McLelland-Young's Blow Thou Cleansing Wind is a sacred anthem for SATB choir, written in English. The text is a prayer for the Holy Spirit to inspire and guide the singers. It calls for the Spirit's presence to cleanse, ignite, and rule hearts and minds, leading to a life fully dedicated to divine purpose. The composer's setting aims to capture the fervent supplication of the words, offering a powerful and reflective musical experience for the choir and congregation.
