About Blessed Lord, who hast caused
Joseph Key's anthem Blessed Lord, who hast caused is written for SATB choir and sung in English. The text is a prayer for guidance in understanding and applying Holy Scripture. The choir is asked to grant that singers may 'hear them; read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them', so that through patience and comfort found in God's word, they may hold fast to the 'blessed hope of everlasting life' given in Christ. This sacred anthem offers a reflective setting of a profound devotional text, suitable for congregational occasions.
