About Bey guter Zeit
Georg Vogler's Bey guter Zeit is a German sacred hymn for treble and bass voices. The text offers spiritual guidance for the end of the day, urging listeners to reflect on their actions, seek forgiveness, and offer thanks. It describes a nightly ritual of seeking counsel from parents, bidding goodnight, and praying for a blessing. Before retiring, one is encouraged to examine their conscience thoroughly, bringing all thoughts and deeds before God. The text also advises seeking the intercession of Mary and recognizing God's divine gifts as a way to maintain a clear conscience.
