About Benedictus es Domine, MH369
The words of this Benedictus es Domine express praise for God, who beholds the depths and sits enthroned upon the Cherubim, and is forever praiseworthy in the firmament of heaven. They continue to laud God as the God of our fathers. Johann Michael Haydn sets this Latin text for SATB choir in a sacred responsorial style, reflecting the liturgical origins of the words.
