About Benedicite nomen eius
This motet draws its text from the Book of Daniel, a magnificent hymn of creation. It invites all of God's works to bless the Lord, calling upon the heavens, angels, waters, sun, moon, stars, winds, fire, and all the elements to praise Him eternally. Ruggiero Giovannelli sets this grand invocation for double choir, SSAB and ATTB, creating a rich and sonorous texture. The Latin text is treated with a clear and direct musical setting, emphasizing the text's expansive praise and exultation. It is a powerful and uplifting work, suitable for liturgical settings or concert performance where its devotional message can resonate.
