Benedicat Nobis by Roger Lawrence — Lyrics
Benedicat nobis omnipotens Deus, et dona quae de ejus largitate;
sumus percepturi, per Jesum Christum Dominum nostrum, Amen.
About Benedicat Nobis
Roger Lawrence’s setting of Benedicat Nobis is written for SATB choir. The Latin text is a traditional prayer for God’s blessing upon the gifts to be received, through Christ. The composer draws on the rich tradition of sacred choral music, offering a work suitable for liturgical use, perhaps as an entrance song. The straightforward nature of the text and the clear SATB voicing make this an accessible yet devotional piece for church choirs. Its solemnity and devotional character align well with its sacred context, providing a moment of reflection and prayer.
