Bella Porta di Rubini by Andrea Falconieri — Lyrics
Bella porta di rubini,
ch'apr'il varco ai dolci accenti,
che nei risi peregrini
scopri perle rilucenti
tu d'amor dolc'aura spiri
refrigerio a' miei martiri.

About Bella Porta di Rubini
Andrea Falconieri’s Bella Porta di Rubini sets a delightful Italian text that compares the beloved’s lips to a ruby door opening to sweet sounds and shining pearls. The soprano voice, with its clear timbre, perfectly captures the imagery of a fresh, dewy rose. This aria expresses the intoxication of love, with words suggesting that the beloved's smiles and gentle silence are as eloquent as kisses. Falconieri's skill in crafting expressive vocal lines shines through in this short, captivating piece, making it an ideal selection for a soprano soloist.
