The text portrays a speaker addressing a beloved warrior-woman, questioning her anger and pride. He laments his own gentle reverence and subservient demeanor, asking if her pleasure comes from his suffering. He declares he feels no pain in languishing or dying, as his life is solely for her. The speaker pleads that if his life, dedicated to her honour, can bring her joy, she should not scorn it. He fears that if he is not granted more time, the story of her name, which he has woven, will end almost as soon as it began.
