Beatus Franciscus

The text of this motet paints a poignant scene of Saint Francis approaching death. His eyes fill with tears as he looks to heaven, crying out to the Lord and pleading for his soul to be released from its earthly prison. He yearns to praise God's name, confident that the righteous await God's reward. Jerónimo de Aliseda sets this profound Latin text for SSATB choir, creating a sacred work that allows the voices to express the saint's deep spiritual longing and trust in divine providence.
