Beati mundo corde by Nobuaki Izawa — Lyrics
beati pauperes spiritu quoniam ipsorum est regnum caelorum
beati mites quoniam ipsi possidebunt terram
beati qui lugent quoniam ipsi consolabuntur
beati qui esuriunt et sitiunt iustitiam quoniam ipsi saturabuntur
beati misericordes quia ipsi misericordiam consequentur

About Beati mundo corde
The text is a compilation of Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount, inviting reflection on the qualities blessed by God and the rewards promised to the faithful. Nobuaki Izawa sets this profound Latin text for SATB choir. The music articulates the spiritual journey described in the words, moving from the humble spirit and meekness to the pursuit of justice and peace, and finally to the rejoicing in persecution for righteousness' sake. This motet offers a rich harmonic language, ideal for a contemplative moment in a sacred service or as a powerful concert work.
