About Beata es maria
Andrea Gabrieli was a pioneering composer of the Venetian school. His SAATB motet Beata es Maria is a profound setting of Marian texts. The Latin lyrics celebrate the Virgin Mary, proclaiming her blessedness for carrying the creator of the world, for giving birth to Him who made her, and for remaining eternally a virgin. Other sections highlight her faith, her role as the Mother of God, and her exalted position above the angelic choirs, asking her to intercede for us. This SACRED motet is a powerful expression of Marian devotion, suitable for liturgical use or concert programming.
