Basciami vita mia

Perfect for a passionate moment on a warm summer evening, this secular madrigal by Giovanni de Macque offers a rich sonic experience for SSATTB voices. Sung in Italian, the text expresses an ardent plea for kisses, a dialogue between lovers where each embrace deepens the connection until the soul itself is left between the beloved's lips. Macque crafts an exquisite musical setting, where the multiple voice parts interweave to capture the sensuality and intensity of the words. This work would be an ideal addition to a Renaissance madrigal concert programme, showcasing the expressive capabilities of a large, skilled choir.
