Vittoria Aleotti's Baciai per aver Vita is a secular madrigal for SATB choir, sung in Italian. The music opens with a lively interplay between the voices, setting a joyful mood. The text speaks of seeking life through a kiss, but finding death instead. However, this death is so welcome that the singer would not have wished for a happier fate while alive.
