About Baci dolci e soavi
Adriano Banchieri's Baci dolci e soavi is a delightful secular villanella for treble voices (SSB). The Italian text expresses the singer's joy in sweet kisses, comparing them to the most exquisite pleasures. The words paint a vivid scene of love and contentment, with the singer relishing the taste of kisses and the beloved's hidden tongue, finding unparalleled happiness. The music is intended to reflect this ardent and joyful sentiment, capturing the essence of Italian Renaissance part-music in a charming and accessible setting.
