About B - 4. neděle velikonoční
This responsory for two voices, S and T, opens with a direct, unadorned statement of the incipit. The two parts enter in unison on important melodic and textual points, their lines becoming more independent as the music progresses. The composer skillfully contrasts homophonic declamation with more contrapuntal passages. The Czech text, drawn from Psalm 118, speaks of the stone rejected by builders becoming the cornerstone and expresses confident trust in God’s enduring mercy. The music conveys a sense of humble yet firm affirmation.
