Ay Linda Amiga

Eduardo M. Torner harmonised this traditional Spanish folk song for SATB voices. The text expresses the pain of love and loss, beginning with a lament for a lost friend and the inevitability of death, moving to the universal truth that love brings sorrow, and ending with a poignant image of searching for a lost love in the fields at sunrise. The music reflects the deep emotion of the words, with a rich, homophonic texture that allows the message to come through clearly.
