About Ave vivens hostia II

These Latin stanzas address the Blessed Sacrament, praising it as the living sacrifice and truth that ends all other sacrifices, through which the Church is eternally strengthened and glory is given to the Father. The text continues, invoking the Sacrament as a vessel of mercy, a treasure of sweetness, and the source of heavenly delights, embodying the substance of the Savior and the sacrament of grace. This moving hymn for TTB voices also speaks of the Sacrament as heavenly manna, a spiritual medicine, and the ultimate gift of Christ, given in memory of his sacrifice. The composer André Vierendeels sets this devotional text with clear reverence.
