Ave stella matutina

Gaspar van Weerbeke’s motet Ave stella matutina for STTB voices opens with a serene and flowing melodic line, soon joined by the other parts to create a rich, imitative texture. The words are a Marian antiphon, addressing Mary as the morning star, queen of the world, and protector against the enemy.
