About Ave Maria du Himmelkönigin
André Vierendeels composed this setting of the German text Ave Maria, du Himmelkönigin. The Latin hymn is addressed to Mary, Queen of Heaven, and praises her as a comforter, chosen by God, and an advocate. The text, which also calls her Empress, beautiful rose garden, and jewel of Christendom, highlights her role as the Mother of Mercy.
