About Ave Maria, alleluia
This setting of the familiar Latin text Ave Maria, alleluia offers a rich opportunity for an accomplished SSATB choir. Jennifer Bastable’s devotional anthem is suitable for services during Marian feast days or general sacred occasions. The composer’s sensitive approach to the text allows the beauty of the Latin words to shine, with the flowing melodic lines and well-judged harmonic language supporting the prayerful mood. The extended alleluia section provides a joyful and uplifting conclusion, making this a compelling choice for choirs seeking substantial yet accessible sacred repertoire.
