Ave Maria a 6

This devotional motet is ideal for services during Advent and Christmas, or for Marian feast days. The composer Charles H. Giffen sets the familiar Latin text of the Ave Maria for a substantial six-part choir, with a voicing of SSATBB or SMzATBarB. The music offers a rich sound world, allowing the choir to explore the serene and prayerful nature of the salutation to Mary, reflecting on the words "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb."
