About Ave Maria
Hilarión Eslava's Ave Maria is a sacred motet setting the familiar Latin text of the Ave Maria. Sung by a SATB choir, this work draws upon the rich tradition of Marian devotion found in Catholic liturgical music. The composer's setting reflects the text's message of divine grace and blessing, beginning with "Ave gratia plena, Dominus tecum; benedicta tu in mulieribus et benedictus fructus ventris tui." Eslava’s music aims to convey the solemnity and reverence appropriate to this well-loved prayer, making it a suitable choice for services or concerts seeking to explore sacred choral repertoire.
