Ave Maria

This setting of the Ave Maria for double SATB choir draws on the familiar Latin text of the Salutation of Elizabeth. The words, 'Hail full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,' speak of divine favour and maternal blessing. Jorge Moreira's composition is a sacred motet, scored for two full choirs which can be used antiphonally or combined for a richer texture. The lush harmonies and the spacious SATB.SATB voicing create an atmosphere of reverence and profound devotion, well-suited for liturgical settings or concert performance.
