About Ave Maria
Giovanni Andrea Dragoni, a composer of the late Renaissance, offers a striking setting of the Ave Maria text. This motet for SATTB voices in Latin explores the profound message of the Annunciation. Dragoni’s music captures the solemnity and reverence of the scriptural words, with the rich vocal texture providing a powerful medium for the devotional text. The interwoven vocal lines create a sense of sacred contemplation, making this a significant work within the Renaissance motet tradition.
