About Ave Maria
Francisco Valls' Ave Maria unfolds with a rich double choir texture, SATB and SATB, creating an expansive and resonant sound world. The interplay between the choirs, whether in dialogue or unified homophony, enhances the devotional character of this sacred setting. The Latin text, a traditional Marian antiphon, is treated with reverence and clarity, its message of divine grace and blessing brought to life through Valls' masterful contrapuntal writing and sensitive harmonic language. This is a work that demands and rewards careful attention to detail, offering a profound musical experience rooted in the sacred choral tradition.
