About Ave Maria
Giacomo Fogliano's Ave Maria is a setting for SATB choir of the traditional Latin text. The music opens with a gently flowing polyphony, the four voices weaving together in close imitation. The composer explores the text's message of divine grace and blessing with serene and devout musical language. The interplay between the voices creates a rich yet transparent texture, ideal for conveying the sacred character of the Marian antiphon. This motet offers a moment of contemplative beauty, a sensitive musical response to one of the most revered prayers in the Christian tradition.
