About Ave Maria
The familiar words of the Ave Maria are set in this SSA setting by Pierre Certon. The text, opening with the angel Gabriel's salutation, expresses the joy and wonder of Mary's divine calling. Certon's musical setting captures the serene beauty of the Latin text, creating a devotional atmosphere. This motet is suitable for services or concerts where sacred Latin motets are appreciated. The clear SSA voicing allows for a bright and resonant interpretation of the sacred text.
