Ave Domine Jesu Christe

This motet by Cristóbal de Morales, sung in Latin, is suitable for services related to the Eucharist. The text addresses Jesus Christ with a series of reverent titles, praising his divine and human natures. It calls him King, Light of Heaven, Lamb of God, Word made Flesh, and the source of piety, joy, and peace. The SATB voicing allows for rich harmonies and a full sound, ideal for the solemnity of the Mass or a devotional setting. The composer's profound faith imbues the music with a deep sense of adoration and devotion, making it a powerful addition to any sacred choral repertoire.
