About Audi benigne conditor
This setting of the ancient Lenten hymn Audi benigne conditor is for three male voices (Alto, Tenor, Tenor). The Latin text is a plea for mercy and forgiveness during the penitential season of Lent. It asks the 'kind creator' to hear prayers, acknowledge human frailty, and grant grace to those who repent. The choir is asked to grant the remission of sins to those who return to God, offering healing to the weak and cleansing from sin through fasting and abstinence. The hymn concludes with a prayer to the Trinity for the Lenten fast to be fruitful.
