every knee shall bow,
every tongue confess him
King of glory now;
'tis the Father's pleasure

At his voice creation

About At the Name of Jesus
William Henry Monk's well-known hymn tune, "Ratisbon", is set here for SATB choir. The English text is a powerful expression of Christian theology, proclaiming the glory and authority of Jesus Christ. It describes his divine nature as the Word of God, the creator of all things, and the sovereign Lord. The lyrics vividly depict the reverence due to him, from all creation and heavenly hosts to every tongue confessing him. It speaks of his humility in taking on human form and his ultimate triumph through death and resurrection, ascending to the throne of Godhead. This is a stirring anthem suitable for services of praise and adoration.
