About Asperges me no. 1
This setting of the Asperges me is suitable for use at Mass during the Easter season, or indeed throughout the year. The Latin text, a prayer for purification and mercy, is given a rich SATB harmonization. The choir begins with the familiar antiphon, asking to be cleansed and made whiter than snow, followed by the plea for God's mercy according to his great compassion. The piece concludes with the Lesser Doxology, traditionally sung after the antiphon and versicle.
