About As tu point veu
Adrian Willaert was a Flemish composer of the Renaissance, active in Italy. As tu point veu is a secular chanson for three voices (soprano, tenor, tenor). The French text describes a fashionable young noblewoman, a viscountess, who is pretty, lively, and stylishly dressed. She has given her elegance to the thorn bush on the most beautiful mine, and is painted and smeared green like a parrot. The composer uses the chanson form to create a charming musical setting of this lighthearted text, a typical example of secular part-music from the period.
