About Apparuit benignitas
Johannes Galliculus’s Apparuit benignitas is a sacred motet for SATB choir. The music unfolds with interplay between the four voices, creating a rich texture. The Latin text, drawn from scripture, speaks of the kindness and humanity of our Saviour appearing, bringing salvation not through our works but by His mercy. It details how we are saved through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, poured out abundantly through Jesus Christ, so that justified by His grace we may be heirs of eternal life.
