About Apostolus Paulus
The Apostle Paul, vessel of election, is truly worthy of glorification, having merited the twelfth throne. This motet by Orazio Vecchi sets these words of praise in Latin for a large eight-part choir, SSAATTTT. Vecchi, a prolific composer of the late Renaissance, was known for his madrigals and sacred music. This motet showcases his skill in writing for multiple voice parts, creating a rich and complex texture to honour the influential figure of Saint Paul.
