About Antiphon
This setting of the Latin text In paradisum is designed for use at funerals or other services for the departed. The choir, singing SATB, is called upon to pray for the soul of the deceased, asking that angels lead them into paradise. The martyrs are invoked to welcome them, and the soul is guided to the holy city of Jerusalem. The chorus of angels then welcomes the departed, joining them with Lazarus in eternal rest. Allan Loucks's composition aims to provide solace and spiritual comfort through its sacred text and expressive harmonies.
