Anima Christi, sanctifica me.
Corpus Christi, salva me.

About Anima Christi
Choristers might sing Anima Christi during devotional services, particularly those focusing on the Eucharist or the Passion of Christ. The composer Lawrence Sisk sets this powerful Latin text for SATB choir. The text is a traditional prayer to Christ, asking for sanctification and salvation, and for protection and comfort through His sacrifice. Sisk's setting aims to capture the deep spiritual longing expressed in the words, making it suitable for services of reflection and prayer. The motet's direct address to Jesus, from His soul to His blood, His side and His passion, evokes profound intimacy and a plea for spiritual nourishment and eternal unity.
