About ANIMA CHRISTI
"Anima Christi" is one of the most beloved prayers of the Church, often sung in the quiet moments right after Communion. This setting brings the traditional English translation to life, offering a gentle, earnest plea for Christ’s sanctifying grace and protection. The words guide the choir and congregation through a deeply personal meditation, asking to be hidden within His wounds and defended from the enemy.
The arrangement is laid out with three distinct verses that build up to a beautiful, harmonised conclusion. As the piece moves into its final lines—praying to join the saints in praising God for all eternity—the music swells into a reverent "Amen." It is a perfect choice for post-Communion reflection or times of Eucharistic adoration, giving the congregation a moment of profound spiritual intimacy.
